3F News
March 23, 2020
Dear 3F families,
I hope everyone is well and is starting to get into a new routine. I have kept busy this week with many walks (I love living right near Rock Creek Park in Maryland), reading, FaceTiming with family and friends, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
We will launch our distance learning this week using the CLEVER platform primarily. Your child has already logged into this site many times this year. This week we will review skills and finish our fairytales. Starting on Tuesday, your child should log into CLEVER every morning (if possible) and go to Kidblog. The morning message will be posted there by 9am along with the day's assignments. I will respond to the posts on Kidsblog daily. If your child would like to have a conversation with me they can email me to setup a time to talk or we can correspond through email.

Teachers are busily learning Microsoft Teams. We will be using this after the first 6 days of distance learning. The following link (Office365 Family Guidance) from Principal Lutz has guidance for your family use of Office365. Please be patient as we learn this new platform to engage in distance learning.
3F IMPORTANT DATES:
Stay healthy, safe, and happy!

3F IMPORTANT DATES:
- 3/24 - 4/24 Distance Learning
Stay healthy, safe, and happy!
READER'S WORKSHOP: This week your child will read four opinion articles from Newsela. Then they will write about their reading using evidence from the text to support their thinking. Your child should additionally be reading for thirty minutes each day.
WRITER'S WORKSHOP: Students will finish revising and editing and will then publish their fairy tale. They brought home everything they need to complete this assignment. Later in the week there will be another writing assignment posted. Students may, of course, write at any time - blog posts about what they've been up to, letters to relatives or friends, or a daily journal of this unusual experience.
MATH: This week we will review skills already taught by having your child take practice quizzes using Edulastic. Your child should continue to practice their multiplication facts for 10 minutes daily to achieve fluency.
Everything is homework!
